      About This Role:

      Our Director of Human Resources role exists to develop, manage and lead the policies and programs ensuring legal compliance and implementation of New Stand’s mission, values and objectives. This role will collaborate with senior leadership to understand the company’s goals related to recruiting, retention and company culture, and make sure New Stand is at the forefront of organization trends. This role will interface with all departments and will report to the COO.

       

      What You’ll Do:

      HRBP + Human Resource Programming

      • Develop and manage the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations
      • Monitor and ensure the company’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
      • Support functional areas to proactively address team structure, roles and responsibilities, and other key people considerations
      • Provide support to leadership by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions
      • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies

      Talent Acquisition

      • Develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management so as to ensure an efficient internal experience and optimal candidate experience
      • Create job descriptions and postings
      • Identify and manage a software that supports company needs
      • Develop an employee retention strategy that around recruiting, training + development

      Employee Experience

      • Manage process for goal setting and performance reviews
      • Design and streamline an onboarding process to set up new hires for optimal success
      • Design and manage training programs so as to ensure all employees have what they need for optimal performance
      • Facilitate professional development activities
      • Establish and manage a standard recognition program
      • Partner with leadership to ensure morale and culture is always being optimized for business success
      • Partner with product team to help with enhancements and testing on NS employee engagement tools we use for our clients

      Who You Are

      You are strategic and tactical as this is a “hands on” position which requires interaction and visibility with all levels of the organization. You possess considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration, excellent problem solving skills, effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, superior conflict management skills, approachability, dealing with ambiguity, command and influencing abilities, motivating others, drive for results and building effective teams.

       
      What You’ll Need

      • Minimum of 6 years of strong generalist experience HR/People Operations experience within a growing startup or complex teams in retail, and have proven success in recruiting, building department structure and leading HR initiatives in a rapidly growing company
      • You excel at managing priorities in a fast-paced environment which include proactively anticipating and managing people issues before they arise
      • You are empathetic and a good listener for employees and handle all matters with a high level of confidentiality
      • Leadership experience in managing and leading a team is required
      • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
      • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
