About the Role

In line with our rapid growth, we are seeking a regional general manager to lead our growing and complex organization across the entire North America region. The role will have a dual-reporting relationship into the CEO and the VP of Global Operations, who are both based in Tridge’s global headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

 

More specifically, we expect this leader to:

  • Build and lead the regional organization. Create alignment between the regional organization and Tridge’s global strategy and objectives; design, implement, and drive optimal KPIs accordingly
  • Build relationships with key suppliers and buyers in the region; lead transactions and negotiations. Engage with customers to ensure their success and positive experience
  • Seamlessly communicate with the global leadership team and proactively integrate the North America region with the rest of the global organization
  • Elevate our bar for talent for not only in North America, but also other core markets around the world, in collaboration with our global HR function
  • Implement our global risk management strategy across region through appropriate risk management / due diligence protocols
  • Secure necessary infrastructure to build a longer-term growth base such as warehousing, packing, shipping, and farming facilities. Craft an optimal strategy in each country within the region, in accordance with local laws and regulations
  • Travel within the region as necessary, but with consideration for the safety and well-being of employees, and within the bounds of local policies (especially during COVID-19)
  • Maintain flexibility to work across multiple time zones to collaborate frequently with colleagues, partners, and customers in Asia, Europe/Africa and the Americas

 

About You: Need-To-Haves

  • A mission-driven belief that aligns with Tridge’s vision for enabling an equilibrium in the global agricultural commodities markets
  • An affinity for people, whether in the context of interacting with customers, or caring for the wellbeing and success of colleagues
  • Bias towards action combined with self-discipline, and an infectious energy to rally others around a common goal
  • High bar for integrity, the courage to lead by example, and an attitude that assumes positive intent in others
  • Energy and enthusiasm to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • At least 10 years of professional experience, and at least 5 years of people-management experience
  • Goal-oriented mindset and a healthy obsession for achieving outcomes
  • Intercultural fluency, and language fluency in English (additionally, Spanish is highly preferred)
  • Strong communication and outstanding negotiation skills

 

About You: Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience working in a multinational organization or managing customers on a regional basis
  • Management consulting background with industry experience in Ag Tech or food production/processing
  • Agility to adapt in dynamic environments and evolving strategies
  • Strong understanding of the trading industry and commodity markets, including logistics, import/export process, payment terms, and customs
  • Experience of interacting with external investors (e.g. investment banks, venture capital, private equity) as well as working with corporate strategy/development functions
